Thank you for visiting my professional site. Here you will find information on my research, teaching, and outreach. I believe that it is important for scientists to not only do innovative research, but it is also essential to be successful in teaching and to participate in outreach programs. Please click on the headings to see the home page for each section.
I earned my PhD in Neuroscience in 2011 from Penn State University, and then I went on to do Postdoctoral research in Dr. Joseph Lonstein's lab at Michigan State University. After that, I became a Visiting Assistant Professor of Psychology and Neuroscience at Colgate University. In 2017, I took a position as an Assistant Professor of Psychology at Purdue University Northwest and I am built up my research lab. In 2021, I accepted an amazing opportunity to help build the Undergraduate Neuroscience at Georgia Tech in Atlanta, GA and I have been conducting research in a partnership with Zoo Atlanta. Please contact me if you would like to know more or if you are an undergraduate student interested in getting research experience.
Check out my "Anxious Brain" talk I gave during Brain Awareness Week in March 2018.
